This week: Congratulations Reinier Oostheim

14 June 2024   -   At the end of the 59th edition of the ISU congress we want to congratulate Short Track Technical Committee member Reinier Oostheim for a special celebration. Reinier Oostheim has been a member of the Technical Committee Short Track for 40 years!
   
    Only a few people have been for such a long period within the ISU organization. Behind him in number of years is Jean Heckley from France who was member of the Speed Skating Technical Committee and later council member and vice president of the ISU over a period of 33 years (until 1992)!
   
    Reinier Oostheim is doing a lot for the development of our sport, has been organizer of many competitions, has given many clinics and seminars to educate and train our officials, has done a lot for developing regulations for shorttrack, has made the Winsport software for doing competition administration and many more software for timing purposes of our sport.
   
    Also he is co-editor of the website Shorttrackonline.info and co-organiser of the Chamonix/Oberstdorf Shorttrack Summercamp which now exists for 39 years! We want to congratulate him and wish he will continue for many more years with his great support for our sport.

 
 

This week: ISU Congress

14 June 2024   -   From 10-14 June 2024 the 59th edition of the ISU Congress is held in Las Vegas (USA). More than 250 delegates from 65 countries attended this event. This year’s congress focuses mainly on the regulations of the branches of our sport, modernization of the ISU organization and the presentation of the strategic plan ISU Vision 2030 outlining major growth and innovation marking the start of an exciting and game-changing future.

 
 

This week: in memoriam Roland Maillard

14 June 2024   -   Today we received the message that Roland Maillard (SWI) has passed away this morning. Roland has been many years involved in our sport. First in the Swiss Ice Sport Federation, later in the technical committee speed skating of the ISU and many years as council member of the ISU. Roland has done a lot for the development of speed skating and was a great supporter of shorttrack.

This website gives competition-information, results, statistics, background-information etc. and is specially made for skaters, competition-organizers, statisticians, journalists and everybody who is interested in shorttrack-speedskating. The in this website imbedded entry-system allows federations and clubs to enter skaters for competitions and is a helpful tool for competition-organisers. PB-Event: for Sport and Events

1 January 2006   -   PB-Event is a Dutch company that is specialized in Sound, Telecommunication and Timing equipment. They are also Producers for big and small sport events. Moreover, they have worked for many years in Short Track Speed Skating.
    PB-Event is doing jobs all over the world. They have worked for the Grand Prix Track & Field in Mexico, the Grand Prix Thales FBK Games in the Netherlands and for the Grand Prix Track & Field of Shanghai as well. In the Netherlands they supply the technical equipment for many (sport) events. Contracted by the Rabobank cycling team, they have gone for a many years to the Tour de France. Their Telecommunication equipment has been used at the Olympic Games of Salt Lake City and also at the Olympic Games of Torino.

Danubia - Star Class Competitions 2023/2024

 

Danubia - StarClass series

Danubia and StarClass are a series of international competitions in Short Track Speed Skating in accordance with all Regulations of the International Skating Union, with an overall classification. The competitions are qualifying competitions for the Europacup final. The competitions are designated as such during the annual calendar meeting of European Members of the ISU.
