14 June 2024 -
At the end of the 59th edition of the ISU congress we want to congratulate Short Track Technical Committee member Reinier Oostheim for a special celebration. Reinier Oostheim has been a member of the Technical Committee Short Track for 40 years!
Only a few people have been for such a long period within the ISU organization. Behind him in number of years is Jean Heckley from France who was member of the Speed Skating Technical Committee and later council member and vice president of the ISU over a period of 33 years (until 1992)!
Reinier Oostheim is doing a lot for the development of our sport, has been organizer of many competitions, has given many clinics and seminars to educate and train our officials, has done a lot for developing regulations for shorttrack, has made the Winsport software for doing competition administration and many more software for timing purposes of our sport.
Also he is co-editor of the website Shorttrackonline.info and co-organiser of the Chamonix/Oberstdorf Shorttrack Summercamp which now exists for 39 years! We want to congratulate him and wish he will continue for many more years with his great support for our sport.
