    If King Winter is the Master
    with snow and ice on canal and ditch
    Many skaters heart beats faster
    the noble art of skating is so rich
   
    To challenge the ice in a blink
    should one First learn to skate
    At natural ice or skating rink
    to balance well and skate so straight
   
    Many Trainer helped the skater
    trained him or her to “prime”
    Others did the “jobs” around it
    the Jury member "kept the time"
   
    Also the “Cleaner” and ice “ Sweeper ”
    proudly looked after their job
    Sometimes worked hard like beavers
    making the ice to be very “top”
   
    The Starter started many races
    pointed his gun into the sky
    Giving skaters very good bases
    for going over the ice in a “fly”
   
    The TC-member took decisions
    never good that was the case
    In the eyes of the helmsmen
    standing ashore in the wrong place
   
    The Competitors Steward suffers
    no start position was correct
    With questions from all those “Duffers”
    and the points 3-double checked
   
    The Referee tries doing Justice
    in order to make it fair for all
    Sometimes dealing with some “crudeness”
    if space between skaters was too small
   
    Lapboard counting is so heavy
    concentration is the thing
    Many colleagues will not envy
    don’t forget the bell to “Ring”
   
    The Announcer tells the story
    sometimes chatted from his neck
    Made the game not being “boring”
    With all the skaters on the “deck”
   
    Statisticians collect the results
    so that no one will forget
    Supporters will love the outcome
    and will sometimes do a “Bet”
   
    Thanks to the efforts of these “many”
    Is the Skating for Young and Old
    By sharing the skill to “Any”
    a sport worth much more then gold
