StarClass and Youth Olympics in Lausanne
the temporarily ice rink next door to the newly build Arena

- In the season 2019-2020 the StarClass Shorttrack and Youth Olympic Winter Games will take place in the new Malley Sport Centre in Lausanne (SWI). This new Arena is build on the place of the old Ice rink which was situated at that location from 1984 until 2017. At the moment builders are working very hard to have the stadium completlye ready before the Youth Olympic Winter Games which starts on 9 January 2020. The Official opening ceremony of the Youth Olympic Winter Games and the Ice hockey competition will take place in the big Arena. The Figure Skating and Shorttrack competition of the Olympics will take place on the temporarily Ice rink in a big tent next-door to the new Arena. Also the StarClass competition Shorttrack in November 2019 will take place on the temporarily Ice rink next-door to the new Arena.
It took two years to build this new stadium which will be called Vaudoise Aréna. The stadium is multi purpose and can also be used for events. In the building recreational facilities are hosted and 3 Ice rinks. The main Ice Rink will accommodate 10.000 seats. Besides this there is an aquatic centre with an Olympic Swimming pool, a fencing centre and a table tennis centre. It is also planned to have around 50 concerts and shows a year in the main Ice rink.
