World Junior Championships in Montreal

- The 2019 ISU World Junior Shorttrack Speed Skating Championships is held from 25-27 January 2019 in the Aréna Maurice-Richard in Montreal Canada. The stadium is located next to the 1976 Olympic Stadium, was built in 1962 and completely renovated in 1994. The Stadium has 4750 seats and is named in honour of famous Icehockey player of Montreal: Maurice Richard. The Stadium hosted five times before an ISU Championships Shorttrack: the Senior championships was held here in 1987, 2002, 2014 and 2018. The Junior Championships was held here before in 1999.
The World Junior Championships was held for the first time in 1994 in Seoul-Korea, with 62 skaters (31 Ladies and 30 Men) from 16 countries. Montreal is the 26th edition. For this competition 179 skaters were entered from 42 countries. This World Championships is a individual World Championship for every distance plus the World Title for the Relay.
