4 January 2015   -   The StarClass series of competitions for this season have a new and attractive Overall Classification with nice awards for the skaters. Thanks to the support of all StarClass organizers and a sponsor it is possible this year to award special prizes to the top ten skaters who have competed in all the 3 competitions for their age-category. For the Juniors-B, A and Seniors this Overall classification will be made up after the StarClass competition in Nottingham. For the other categories this will be done after the competition in Torino. Skaters can only qualify for this Overall Classification when they have competed in all 3 competitions of their age group.

Stuart Horsepool, Performance Director at GB Short Track said: “The National Performance Centre for short track speed skating has been based at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham since 2000, so we are all extremely excited to be holding our first international competition here in January. This is a fantastic opportunity for the public to come along and experience some high octane international racing, in what is a very fast paced, exciting and often unpredictable sport".

It will be a very special competition. Not only because it is held in the famous National Ice Centre in the City where Robin Hood was born. But also because it is expected that more then 3000 school children will come and visit this event. Besides this the ticket sale has started and it is expected that also a lot of public will welcome the skaters from all over West-Europe.

For the Juniors-B, A and Seniors Nottingham is the third competition of the series in which the skaters also can qualify for the Europa Cup Final. This final localdlish will be held together with the best skaters of Eastern Europe in March in Oberstdorf Germany.
