World Cup Shorttrack Shanghai

- From 12-14 December the 3th World Cup Shorttrack is held in Shanghai. The Shanghai Oriental Sports Center (海东方体育中心), also known as the Shanghai Aquatic Sports Center, is the competition site for 156 skaters from 24 countries.
The Shanghai Oriental Sports Center started construction on December 30, 2008 and was completed in late 2010. It hosted the 14th World Aquatics Championships and the 2012 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships. The center has an indoor arena with 18000 seats, an indoor swimming pool with 5000 seats, and an outdoor swimming pool with also 5000 seats. The Shanghai Oriental Sports Center is close to Huangpu River, next to Expo Park in Shanghai's Pudong New Area and close to Pudong Airport. The total investment was 230 million euro (313 million USD). The center is situated near the Oriental Sports Center Station on the Shanghai Metro.
