Fast times at Winterfest Calgary

20 February 2009   -   On the last day of the Winterfest Short Track competition in Calgary, Canada, Belgium Pieter Gysel did skate faster than the current 1000 meter Short Track World Record. The final time of Gysel was 1.23.389, an improvement of 0.07 seconds.
    The Belgian skater who trains in Calgary won already the 1500m final on Friday in a World Record pace of 2.08.991.
    On Saturday team and training partner Wim De Deyne skated 0.12 seconds faster than the current World Record on the 500 meter. He did stop the clocks at 40.930.
