Korea succesful in ISU Samsung World Cup Vancouver

- On 24-26 October the second ISU Samsung World Cup was held at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver (CAN); the 2010 Olympic venue. Korea (11 medals) and Canada (8 medals) were the strongest. The 1000 meters was skated twice. With the ladies Meng Wang (CHN) and Sae-Bom Shin (KOR) winning the distance. The men’s 1000 meters was for Charles Hamelin (CAN) and Jung-Su Lee (KOR). The ladies 500 meters event was won by Meng Wang (CHN). The 500 meter men was won by Ho-Suk Lee (KOR). The ladies 1500 meters event was won by Yang Zhou (CHN) and the winner with the men was Jung-Su Lee (KOR). The relay-competition was with both the ladies 3000m and men’s 5000m a battle between two teams. The women’s relay was between Korea and China of which Korea was the strongest. In the men’s relay, it was between the United States and Canada; the United States was the winner.
