ISU World Cup standings

11 December 2006   -   It looks that after four worldcup competitions the cards for this shorttrack-season has been shuffled very well. Korea showed again its power and won 6 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals. Korean distance winners were Eun-Ju Jung 1st 1500m, Sun-Yu Jin 2nd-1500m, Chun-Sa Byun 1000m, Hyun-Soo Ahn 1st 1500m, Kyung-Taek Song 2nd 1500m, and the men team who won the relay. Canada is doing better and better every competition. In Montreal they won 4 gold medals and 2 silver. The gold medals were for Kalyna Roberge 500m, the Ladies relay team, Olivier Jean 500m and Charles Hamelin on the 1000m. With this result they scored even better then China who won 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. Very special was the result of the German team who also is doing better and better every competition. They scored 2 bronze medals; a 3rd place for Tyson Heung from Dresden and a 3rd place for the men relay team. Two countries leave Montreal with 1 medal in there luggage; Denis Bellotti (ITA) won bronze on the 1000 meter and Jordan Malone (USA) won silver on the same distance. The worldcup-standing after four competitions can be found here and the worldranking-list with the four best results out of the last six competitions can be found here.
