Star Class: new icerink Dresden

3 September 2007   -   On September 1st, 2007, the new Icerink in Dresden was opened with a Figure Skating Show and a Short Track Competition. The new Ice rink was necessary as the original Icerink of Dresden was damaged by a major flood of the river Elbe. The new rink has good seating capacity and an atmosphere that makes it ideal for spectators watching spectacular sport. For this season the Olympic Days Competition, as part of the Star Class Series, is scheduled. For the season 2008-2009 a World Cup has been applied and for the 2009-2010 season the European Championships have been allotted to Dresden.
